But like everything that is good and worthwhile, undergoing the training is the most difficult aspect of getting certified to fly any aircraft and flying it safely too. It is captivating and enthralling to see a pilot control a large aircraft as they fly it off the ground and safely land the giant metal bird in the same way. Flying as a profession is primarily dominated by Pilots and secondly, the Flight Instructors. As such, they are highly professional in this job that entails a lot of skills, knowledge and yes, good memory. They attend specially run Flight Institutes too like other professional jobs. The schools meant for flights are training institutions called Aviation colleges where School leavers or equivalent certificate holders with very good grades in the Sciences like physics and mathematics are admitted for training to become pilots; they would first of all learn how to fly or pilot small private aircrafts before piloting large sized or bigger aircrafts like the commercial planes used for cargoes and passenger transportation. Anyone who is interested in becoming a pilot after registration with an Aviation training college must start flying with a licensed instructor by his side until he or she is skilled enough to fly alone. Regular flight sessions are usually between fifteen to twenty hours of drilling, grilling and grueling practice.

This goes on for several weeks or months depending on the flight training schedule of the pilot trainee. After student pilots must have flown for close to sixty five hours, the trainees can become Private Pilots; licensed to pilot a small or non-commercial aircraft. Usually, there is something really special about learning to fly a plane; some student pilots always find new challenges like flying through rough weather and trying different flight methods altogether. This prepares them for advancing to flying bigger aircrafts with many commercial passengers, thereby going places in many parts of the world. Although it is not always advisable if the risk taken is too much to be tried. Generally, it takes about a hundred and ninety five to two hundred and fifty hours of flight training time before a private pilot can qualify for the commercial pilot certificate.

What are the necessary steps in flight training? The main areas involved in learning how to fly are readiness to sit, write and pass an aptitude test about piloting. The test can be at any stage during the training sessions. There is need for the trainee to acquire a Pilot Certificate before embarking on lone flight training sessions. In addition to this, there is also the need to acquire other certificates of statutory flight bodies which definitely adds experience and prestige to a Pilot’s flight training and portfolio and eventual certification. The most significant pilot training is the first lone flying; especially when the instructor has the confidence that the trainee is capable of flying solo; the instructor would set him or her free to fly alone towards the successful completion of the training. One needs to complete at least five hours of supervised lone piloting during the cross-country training flight.

There is also the instrument rating which usually allows one to fly in the clouds as well as when visibility is not so good. Such training usually costs between four and five thousand dollars. On the other hand, the flying of the multi-engine rating costs anything from two thousand to four thousand dollars instead of between anything above two hundred dollars being paid for flying a single private airplane. Some Pilots who have just earned their commercial pilot's license become flight instructors for aviation school to earn more flight time. This is because to get a job as a commercial pilot, most places require you to have between five hundred to two thousand flight hours. As a flight instructor, not only do you get to earn your required hours to become a commercial pilot, but you also get to enjoy teaching others the joys of flying, as well as earn some money doing it.
