Pilots are some of the highly skilled people with the daunting task of keeping an excellent memory of flight procedures and at the same time, being able to maneuver their way out of difficult situations. There are different types of pilots. Before you become a pilot to fly a plane either as a career or just for fun, what is the first step to becoming a licensed pilot? After all, millions of people have learned how to fly. And some are career pilots who fly professionally to earn a living. The basic types of pilots in terms of qualifications include student, sport, recreational, private, instrument rated, commercial, certificated flight instructor, airline transport pilot, and designated pilot examiner. By the way, you may have been hearing this certificate being called a pilot's license, but to put it more technically, it is known as a pilot certificate.

First, you have to decide what type of pilot you want to be and the type of plane you would love to fly. To be a pilot, you need to get ready to go through some processes before you get certified. Pilots are certificated by the statutory authorities for particular types of flying activities. A system of certificates that are issued to the pilots, together with a group of standards or ratings are used to specify not only what types of aircraft pilots may fly, but also whether they may carry passengers, and the amount of passengers allowed, whether to fly as hired pilots or not, or given a pilot’s flying experience, whether to fly in certain weather conditions. The guidelines and regulations for getting a pilot’s license or certificate differ depending on the type of aircraft you fly.


If you are interested in flying ultra light crafts, then you don’t need a pilot’s license. You ought to consider what type of flying you want to engage in. There are several different types of pilot’s licenses, from student pilot all the way up to airline pilot. Recreational pilots are made up of who learn to fly for fun, with little interest in becoming professional pilots or using airplanes as a commercial means of traveling. Recreational pilots’ requirements for certification states that one must be at least seventeen years old and should possess nothing less than thirty hours’ flight time and a total of fifteen hours of flight instruction.

Private pilots make up the largest group of pilots and are among the most active flyers. Private pilots may not fly for compensation or hire as part of their regulations. The requirements to become a private pilot are similar to those of a Recreational Pilot. Piloting is a great job and unless you are not interested, then you may consider the advantages and see if you can enroll in a flight school.
